We accompany you on your way to becoming a professional hoof trimmer
Our courses include theory lessons, practical videos and regular online coaching. Through self-study you can learn how to trim your horse’s hoof yourself. We offer you training in 3 levels. As you progress through these levels, you will begin to understand your horse’s anatomy, movement and hooves better and better and develop practical skills
We explain structure and function of your horse’s hooves and what you can do to keep them and your horse healthy. We teach you hoof science, biomechanics, anatomy and hoof diseases. For your practical training our extensive video library shows you step-by-step how you can trim hooves yourself. First we start by using a hoof knife, hoof rasp, hoof nippers or even a toe knife to learn trimming technique.
We then deepen these skills so that you can also help horses with difficult hoof situations or diseases.
We also offer you the opportunity to take part in practical online lessons. We accompany you online on your horse while you work on his hooves.
You don’t need any previous knowledge, with our theory lessons and videos you can get started from scratch.
Take the opportunity to teach yourself everything you need in your own time. You have 24/7 access to our theory lessons and instructional videos.
We have divided our training into 3 levels for you:
Start – deepening – specialization
Level 1: Start

This is your theoretical and practical content
Structure and function of the hoof
Which tool do I need?
What are the working positions on the horse?
How do I work safely on the horse?
How do I use a hoof knife, hoof rasp, hoof nipper and toe knife?
How do I recognize trimming priorities on the hoof?
What do different hoof shapes mean
Theory lessons and instructional videos are available to cover these topics and you can join your first practical online training. After completing this level, you understand the structure of the hoof, you have learned the basic techniques for tool use and you are able to see the most important trimming points of the hoof.

Level 2: Deepening

This is your theoretical and practical content
What hoof trimming theories are there?
How do you work classically, according to F-Balance, NHC or other theories on the hoof?
How is the horse built?
What bones, joints and muscles are there and how do they work?
How can I balance the hoof and the horse?
How do I work on special structures on the hoof?
How do I trim the sole, frog, heel and wall?
Theory lessons and instructional videos are available to cover these topics. After completing this level, you can read and trim the hooves individually according to the horse’s anatomy. You can trim the most important structures of the hoof, like the sole, frog, bars or hoof wall. You know the most important markers for hoof balance and can implement them individually for every horse.

Hoof treatment for draft horses, foals and donkeys
What special work techniques are there for hoof trimming?
How do I use the different working techniques for hoof diseases?
What do I have to consider when working on draft horses, foals or donkeys?
Theory lessons and instructional videos are available to cover these topics. After completing this level, you can also help horses with typical hoof diseases through targeted hoof treatment. You have learned everything about the common hoof diseases. You are also able to deal specifically with draft horses, foals and donkeys in your work.

One step further: Become a professional hoof trimmer
If you have studied level 3, you can trim the hooves of your own horses. But now, you want to go one step further and become a professional hoof trimmer and work on customer horses?
Then you have two options:
- Visit us two times for a 7-day training week in Germany or
- Find a hoof trimmer or farrier in your own country who would like to work with us. We plan your practical training program together with him.
